"Shrek The Musical JR"

Albany Civic Theater presents Shrek The Musical JR., the summer youth theater program’s lively production based on the DreamWorks film and book by William Steig. Directed by Rebecca Douglas, the show features music by Jeanine Tesori and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire.
Performances take place August 15, 16, 22, and 23 at 7:30 p.m., with matinees August 16 and 23 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are available at ACT, and streaming is also available starting August 16. Tickets for streaming can be purchased here.
Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in this fun and heartfelt tale of Shrek, a princess, and a swamp full of fairytale misfits. Run time is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes with no intermission.

More about the Director:
Rebecca Douglas brings over 30 years of community theater experience to Shrek The Musical JR. A frequent performer and director in the Willamette Valley, her local credits include roles in Annie, Big Fish, Avenue Q, and Hello, Dolly! She has directed youth productions such as The Little Mermaid Jr., Seussical Jr., Willy Wonka Jr., and Once on This Island Jr., and served in numerous roles at ACT, CCT, and the Majestic Theatre. Douglas is the General Music Teacher at Albany Christian School and Music Director for the Majestic Theatre’s Adventures in Acting Camp.
